The 1970s American Studio Pottery Vessel with Carved Collar Detail
Hurry up, only 1 item left in stock.
A beautifully balanced 1970s American studio pottery vessel featuring a rounded, bulbous form and a narrow neck that rises from a distinctive carved collar. The collar is decorated with finely incised radial lines that create a subtle sunburst effect, adding texture and visual depth to the otherwise calm, minimalist silhouette.
The vessel is finished in a soft, warm off-white glaze with natural speckling throughout, characteristic of studio pottery from the period. The carved band catches glaze and firing variations in a way that emphasizes the hand-worked quality of the piece. The unglazed base reveals the natural clay body and bears a maker’s stamp, further highlighting its studio origins.
Understated yet sculptural, this piece works beautifully as a standalone object or with a small arrangement of dried stems. Its organic texture and earthy palette make it an easy complement to modern, wabi-sabi, or mid-century inspired interiors.
